This is not a tech blog or even a business blog – this is a parenting site, yet Facebook Mobile caught my attention lately with the return of enabled Autoplay Videos. The other night, after I finished reading stories to my girls, I stayed in their room for a little while to ensure they went to sleep, browsing Facebook while I waited. Suddenly, Autoplay. Maybe you’ve run across it too, even if you have disabled autoplay videos previously. So, while not exactly parenting related, I started pecking through settings to figure out how to stop the mixed curse of Autoplay Videos on your Facebook Mobile Newsfeed.
The recent update that changed the comment look also added more options to the autoplay feature on mobile. If you are as annoyed by this as I was – here is how to stop AutoPlay Videos on your Facebook Newsfeed, again…

On Mobile, tap on your name then scroll to settings.
When Settings is tapped, a pull-up menu will appear. Tap on Account Settings.
Then tap on Videos and Photos
The newest update of the Facebook App brought a wealth of changes to the well loved system, one of which is multiple options for video play. Under the Videos and Photos section you will now find three different options for autoplay video:
- On Mobile Data and Wi-Fi Connection
- On Wi-Fi Connections Only
- Never Autoplay Videos
In order to stop the Autoplay Function, you need t enable the last option.
That’s it! Now Autoplay will be gone once more on your Mobile Facebook Newsfeed.
